So you've received your new stainless steel straws and probably wondering how to clean them. Although our metal straws are dishwasher safe, smoothie leftovers can easily get stuck in them. That's when your cleaning brushes come in handy! They're included with every order and come in two sizes:
- Large brush: has a wide nylon brush head to clean your smoothie straw
- Small brush: has a small nylon brush head to clean your straight and bent straws
Here's an easy step-by-step guide on how to clean your metal straws:
Step 1: Rinse your metal straw and cleaning brush under running water (if you use hot water, make sure you’re wearing rubber dishwashing gloves as stainless steel material gets very hot!)
Step 2: Add a dab of dish soap on the nylon brush bristles.
Step 3: Stick the brush into your straw and scrub to clean the inside edges. This will remove any debris trapped inside (i.e. from your smoothie).
Step 4: Once you feel the inside is sufficiently scraped, wash the outside of the straw with dish soap and water (you can also use the nylon brush to clean the outside of your straw).
Step 5: Rinse the inside and outside of your straw one last time. Let it dry then put it back in your pouch for your next use.
